Virtual Learning Remote Days

December 2025

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

A.W. Beattie Career Center would like to remind families that Virtual Learning Remote Days will be utilized during the 2025 – 2026 school year. Virtual Learning Remote Days may be used in place of a school day that could be cancelled due to inclement weather, an emergency, and district tour dates. Virtual Learning Remote Days will allow students to complete their learning activities and assignments provided by their teacher through Microsoft Teams. Therefore, the Career Center will be able to limit most make-up days through the utilization of Virtual Learning Remote Days.

Students and families will be informed of a Virtual Learning Remote Day through the Career Center’s notification system in the same way that school closings and delays are announced. Notifications will be distributed via phone, email and posted on the Career Center’s website.

The Career Center in collaboration with the sending districts have provided students with technology; including district issued devices, to complete their schoolwork at home. All Career Center activities are cancelled, and students should not report to A.W. Beattie on a Virtual Learning Remote Day.

Students’ expectations for Virtual Learning Remote Days include logging in at the time of their program session so as not to interfere with their sending school schedule. Student attendance will be determined by verification that the student logged in at their designated program time. Students who do not log in will be marked absent and remain absent unless a parent/guardian submits a written excuse. Students who log in at their program time will have five (5) days to complete their assignment.

Students who cannot access the internet before or during a Virtual Learning Remote Day may contact their teacher or school office for assistance. In addition, the student can obtain a hard copy version during the next regular school day. Students will have five (5) school days, once school resumes, to complete their learning activities/assignment.

All teachers and professional staff members will be available via email during a Virtual Learning Remote Day. This includes learning facilitators, counselors, and principals. Additionally, this letter will be posted on the Career Center website at beattietech.com, under the Parents tab. Please visit the website for updated information.

Please note: January 22nd and January 28th are prescheduled Virtual Learning Remote Days for currently enrolled students as the Career Center will be hosting new student district tours on those days. Prospective new students should see their school counselor if they are interested in their district’s selected tour day.

Respectfully,

Beattie Administration
