Non-traditional Senior of the Year has a future in Zoology

Michael Francioni will pursue a degree in Zoology.

Congratulations to Fox Chapel Area School District senior Michael Francioni who was named A.W. Beattie Career Center's Non-Traditional Student of the Year.

Michael's plans to continue his education at CCAC to earn an Associate’s Degree in biology. He will then transfer to Kent State University for a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology.

"Veterinary Sciences is a well-organized and hands on program," Michael said. "It isn’t just petting cats and dogs – we learn all about veterinary pharmacology, diseases, body systems, math, and basic necessities needed for the veterinary field."

One of Michael's favorite parts of the program, of course, were educational field trips to places like the Pittsburgh Zoo, PVSEC, Animal Friends and the National Aviary.
