A.W. Beattie’s Culinary and Pastry Arts programs prepared food for nearly 100 families and their Thanksgiving Day feasts. This included about 2,000 pounds of turkey, 1,000 pounds of potatoes, 500 pounds of stuffing, 200 pounds of green beans and corn each, 3,000 dinner rolls, 250 pies, and much more.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward funding state and national level FCCLA competitions for students. Each year, dozens of students in the Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts and Early Childhood Education programs compete in FCCLA.
About 20 students in FCCLA, in coordination with North Hills Community Outreach, are also volunteering to prepare 200 meals for individuals in need throughout the North Hills region.
