July 2022

Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back for the 2022 – 2023 school year.  I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer.  We are anticipating nearly 1,000 students joining us to focus on their career and college pathways.  I am proud to share that Beattie was represented this summer by members of SkillsUSA and FCCLA student organizations at their national competitions.  Beattie students won a bronze medal in the Career Pathway Showcase and our Chapter Display Team won a silver medal at SkillsUSA in Atlanta, GA.  We are very proud of their team accomplishments.  Anna Miklos, of North Allegheny, represented the Career Center at the National FCCLA competition in San Diego, CA.  Anna earned a  silver medal in the Culinary Arts cooking competition.  She is looking forward to the opportunity to return to nationals next summer.  Please check out the Beattie website at beattietech.com for the complete story and photos.

As the school year draws nearer, we are asking for your assistance in our preparations.  Enclosed is a copy of the 2022 – 2023 Student Handbook, along with a set of student forms that are required to be completed for all students.  We kindly ask that each family take a few minutes to complete the enclosed forms and return to us in the self-addressed stamped envelope that is enclosed, prior to mid-August.

We are looking forward to a normal start of the school year.  We are required to maintain a Health and Safety Plan for the 2022 – 2023 school year.  Our plan which does not require masking at this time will be posted on the Career Center website.  Also on the website, will be a listing of expenditures related to federal funds we are scheduled to receive to support health and the continuity of education through September 2024.

The continued support of our families is appreciated as we work together preparing the next young leaders within our communities.  Please reach out to us if we may be of assistance throughout the school year.  I hope that the remainder of the summer will be enjoyable and relaxing.
