A.W. Beattie's valedictorian plans for college, career

Maddie Abramowicz

Maddie Abramowicz, from Northgate School District, was named the Auto Tech program's Senior of the Year and A.W. Beattie's valedictorian.

"Honestly, I've made a family here," Maddie said. "The program is amazing, and everyone here is so welcoming. I learned so much, and I got so much experience working on my car and other vehicles."

Auto Tech instructors Mr. Parks and Mr. Monroe said Maddie was one of the most adult-like students they've ever had.

"She's advanced probably more than any other student that we've had here," Mr. Monroe said."There's a lot of good things that we could say about her."

Maddie will attend Penn State Beaver for Business Marketing and Management. She may open her own shop someday.

"I'm going to miss her a lot," Mr. Parks said. "Everything Maddie does she does to the nth degree. She embraces everything, and she's a very, very good person"

Maddie played for Northgate's basketball, volleyball and softball teams. She was also in National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, Peer 2 Peer, Northgate's student council and Beattie Ambassadors.

"She has really exemplified what Beattie is all about," Beattie Ambassadors advisor Mrs. Groomes said. "She's hard working, always ready to lend a hand and is going to be a success because of her determination."
