Summer RoboCamp

A.W. Beattie Career Center in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Academy is proud to announce RoboCamp.
During the week, interested incoming seventh, eighth, and ninth graders are invited to join Robotics Academy trained staff at A.W. Beattie Career Center for a fun and exciting adventure with engineering and robotics.

Campers will learn about:
  • Setting Team Goals
  • Developing Team Roles
  • Brainstorming for Problem Solving
  • Working Together as a Team
  • Time Management
  • VEX Robot Building
  • VEX Software Programming
  • Gears and Gear Ratios
  • Use of Sensors
  • Developing Web Pages
  • Completing Short Team Challenges
  • Developing Lifting and Grabbing Mechanisms
  • Simple Machines and Mechanical Advantage
  • Simple Team Strategies
  • PowerPoint Presentations
  • Public Speaking

The week will conclude with a Final Competition and Graduation Ceremony.
