ENTREPRENEURSHIP
PROGRAM INFORMATION: The A.W Beattie Career Center Entrepreneurship Program exists for the purpose of preparing students to potentially own and operate their own businesses. Keeping with the learning process of Career and Technical Education, students are introduced to entrepreneurship through a theory lesson and are then expected to apply those concepts to their own business idea. Through everyday instruction and special business-related activities, students will be exposed to professionalism and leadership as it pertains to the business world. The expectation is that the students will transform their own ideas into business opportunities. Through these experiences, our students are able to unlock their own entrepreneurial creativity and gain knowledge to achieve financial independence and personal satisfaction.
Entrepreneurship students participate in hands-on small business activities as they run and operate the “Beattie Bull Pen”, A.W. Beattie Career Center’s school store, using the knowledge they’ve acquired through training in financial planning, employee management, and advertising techniques.
Any student who is enrolled in a CTE Program at A.W. Beattie Career Center can elect to attend Entrepreneurship classes in addition to their chosen program.
